Free tax preparation for individuals and families who qualify for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. This service is by appointment only. Call 224-535-9856 to make an appointment.

In partnership with Livingston Taxes, Gail Borden's Main Library is a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) location. VITA provides free tax help to people who generally make $60,000 or less, persons with disabilities, limited English speaking taxpayers, and seniors who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. Hours for this service will be:

  • Thursdays from 4 pm to 8 pm
  • Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm

Service will generally be available in both English and Spanish.
