Major General James Blair Steedman (pronounced "Sted-men") distinguished himself in several battles and especially at Chickamauga (9/18-20, 1863) and Nashville (. Of Steedman, one of his subordinates said, "His devotion to cards and whiskey and women filled the measure of his delight except when under fire and then he was a lion.” Learn more about this Union leader during a talk by Armchair General Jerry Allen.
