Healthy Eating Challenge

Join this 5-week challenge to plan, shop, & make meals and snacks from whole food while minimizing consumption of unhealthy processed food. Register for all 5 meeting dates to get the most benefit.

This program will provide support, resources, recipes, and the opportunity to engage with others who are on a similar journey.

Why Eat Whole Food
1.    Whole food is food in its natural state, is unprocessed, and is real food.

2.    Whole food is loaded with important nutrients, antioxidants, contains no added sugar, is high in fiber, and is naturally low in sodium.

3.    Whole food helps keep blood sugar stable and helps with weight management.

4.    Eating whole food helps reduce risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and metabolic syndrome.

With the Balance Well Challenge you will Learn to use the Plate Model to:

  • Create a healthy breakfast made up of whole food to sustain you until lunch.
  • Eat a balanced lunch to keep blood sugar stable and avoid the afternoon crash.
  • Prepare a dinner with whole food to sustain you until morning.
  • Enjoy snacks without wrappers to keep you energized between meals

Dietitians from Advocate Sherman Hospital will help facilitate this series.
