“Bag It,” a 2010 documentary about throw-away plastic bags and the effects of plastic waste, is a deep dive into what plastic pollution does to human health and our environment. Directed by Suzan Beraza, the film follows Jeb Berrier as he starts thinking about stopping using plastic bags when he and his wife expect a baby. This humorous approach to a very serious subject brings it into real life, where everyone can relate. Although the documentary is 15 years old, the plastics crisis has increased since then and viewers will learn important information that is still current today. The film received numerous awards including Best of Festival Award from Blue Oceans Film Festival, Audience Choice Awards from Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival and Mountainfilm in Telluride, and Best Documentary Audience Award from Ashland Independent Film Festival.
