In this talk by Armchair General Jerry Allen, learn about the life of Prince Felix Salm-Salm, a minor European nobleman and officer in the Prussian and Austrian Armies. Prince Felix fled Europe for the United States due to scandal and debts, lands in the Union Army with the help of influential friends, and then marries an American beauty, Agnes, who becomes his superb promoter. Eventually, she and his friends help Felix become a Brigadier General.  After the Civil War, Felix and Agnes go to Mexico to fight for Maximillian I. After that fiasco, it’s back to Europe for both and further social and military adventures follow.
