Braille is the language of reading and writing used by the blind. Let's learn about Louis Braille and use this language of touch for some activities. Registration required. Registration required.
**NOTE: Please register separately for each child planning to attend this program.**
Braille is a system of reading and writing that uses arrangements of dots for letters, numbers, and punctuation. Join Ms. Carrie to read about Louis Braille and make your name in Braille using candy button strips. Registration required.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: We will be using candy button strip candy by the company A Great Surprise to make the raised dots associated with Braille- and I expect the kids will eat some as well. :) The ingredients for the dots we will be using are listed below:
Sugar, corn starch, gelatin, artificial flavor, artificial colors (FD&C Red 3, Yellow 5, Blue 1). The packaging also notes the following:
"Items are repackaged in a facility that may contain milk, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat and all other allergens."
If your child cannot have food products containing the above listed ingredients or exposed to the above listed allergens, please email Carrie at crzeppa@gailborden.info and she will insure that your child's kit contains an alternate item. Unless you notify Carrie prior to November 9, 2023, your child's kit will contain candy button strips.
