Millikin University’s School of Music is pleased to present the 2024 Hollis Prize Winner, Victor Lawton II, a clarinet performance major at Millikin University, where he studies with Dr. David Cook. R

Victor has performed with the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Eidolan Woodwind Quintet, Clarinet Choir, Saxophone Choir, and numerous other chamber ensembles. He has furthermore performed at the Music for All Festival, Essentially Ellington Competition & Festival (Outstanding Soloist award), and ClarinetFest. In 2021 and 2023, he was selected as a winner of the MDSO’s Concerto/Aria Competition. Victor also studies music composition at Millikin and has written and arranged music for the Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz Combo B, percussion ensembles, clari- net ensembles, solo piano, and other chamber groups.

The Hollis Prize Winner’s Recital made possible through the generosity of MU's alumnus, Dr. Kimm Hollis, Professor of Music and Artist in Residence Emeritus Hanover College (IN).
